Dr. Robert Tweed (1926-2009)

Dr. Robert TweedDr. Robert B. Tweed, former professor and chair of the Bible and philosophy department at Geneva College, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2009.

A native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Dr. Tweed was a member of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Geneva College in 1948 with a degree in biblical studies, and went on to earn his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

In addition to his work at the college, Dr. Tweed spent many years in the ministry. He served as pastor at the Geneva Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Anchorage, Alaska, and the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, Kansas.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24 at 11 a.m. at the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls with Rev. Kenneth G. Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reformed Presbyterian Global Missions, 3004 5th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
