Robotic Competition

BEAVER FALLS, Pa.— Geneva’s engineering department will host its seventh annual high school robotic competition on Friday, April 15 at 8:30 a.m. in the Rapp Technical Design Center. High school students from Beaver Falls, Blackhawk, Riverside, and Beaver County Christian School will participate in the competition.

     The activities will include robot-building and competition. Students will have one hour to complete their robot. Afterwards, there will be two rounds of competition followed by a guest speaker and awards ceremony.

     The competition is an exciting way for local high school students to learn more about and participate in and learn more about skills behind computer science and engineering. Also, students will have a chance to meet and interact with faculty from the computer science and engineering departments at Geneva.

     Event participation is by invitation only. Schools interested in participating in next year’s competition should contact Dr. John Pinkerton, professor of electrical engineering, at 724-847-6719.
