Activities for students

spo.jpgThe Student Programs Office at Geneva College has planned a variety of events for the spring semester. From campus-wide games like Humans vs. Zombies to talent exhibitions such as the student-favorite My Generation Night, the members of the programs staff try to offer something to appeal to all kinds of interests.

“Once again, our spring semester is jam-packed with fun, creative ways for student to connect with the campus community,” says Ryan Holt, Director of Student Programs. “I would encourage students to check out our semester calendar, mark down their favorite events and join in on the action.”

  • A Live Jazz Night will be held on Friday, February 8 at 9 p.m. in the Brigadoon. A jazz band from Pittsburgh will play a free concert.
  • $5 Date Night is on Friday, February 22. Students can pay five dollars to sign up for this annual February event. This event is for any couple, whether serious or just friends.
  • Bingo Night is on Friday, March 15 at 8:08 p.m. Students who come dressed as respectable senior citizens will receive more bingo cards, which will increase their chances of winning prizes.
  • Humans vs. Zombies will take place the week of April 8-12. Students, some humans and some zombies, will chase each other around with Nerf guns competing in missions sent out during the week by Student Activities. Each person is responsible for supplying his or her own Nerf gun.
  • Students can go to the movies for a discounted price with Movies at Monaca on Tuesday, April 16. Any of the late-night movie options will cost only two dollars for Geneva students.
  • My Generation Night (MGN) will be on Friday, May 3 at 8:08 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. This popular event provides students with the opportunity to perform music from their generation. Participants can audition either as a band doing a cover song or as a filler act (skit, video, talent, etc). Auditions will be on April 19.
