Philosophy at Geneva College provides students with an introduction to fundamental philosophical ideas, encourages critical evaluation of various philosophic positions in the light of Christian revelation and develops a systematic view of reality which is consistent with the Christian faith. Majoring in philosophy equips students to engage the fundamental questions of life from a Christian point of view.

Some classes you might take

  • Entry level: Introduction to Philosophy, Logic and Ethics
  • Apprenticeship courses: Christian Understanding of Life, Augustine and C.S. Lewis
  • Famous philosopher courses: Plato and Aristotle, Aquinas, Kierkegaard and Nietzsche, Contemporary Philosophers, Postmodern Philosophers, Women Philosophers and others.
  • Specialty courses: Philosophy for Theology, Philosophy of Science, Political Philosophy and others.

What can you do with a philosophy degree?

A degree in philosophy will prepare you for a variety of fields, including but not limited to:

  • Education
  • Journalism

Point of Excellence

Geneva offers a semester-long program at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center which combines seminar courses and internships in various segments of the film industry.
