Geneva College honored former Coach Ken Loeffler and the 1950s NAIA championship basketball team on November 7, 2007 at halftime of the men’s basketball game and during a dinner following.
Coach Ken Loeffler's career at Geneva College spanned from 1928-35. He then coached at Yale, LaSalle University and Texas A&M. He coached six consecutive 20 win seasons, won 1952 NIT and 1954 NCAA championships, and was a professional coach from 1946-1949. Loeffler was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame as coach in 1964. He was represented at the Tribute Dinner by his son Ken Loeffler.
The 1950’s championship teams, coached by Cliff Aultman won four consecutive NAIA championships from 1953 to 1956.
