Beaver Falls, PA– Junior Garrett Swanson (Blackhawk) hit a three-run triple in the fifth to lift Geneva to a 5-2 win over Grove City. The Wolverines had taken a fourth-inning lead but never led again after Swanson’s blow.
Zach Ackerman (Worthington Christian, OH) pitched the first eight innings to record the win as Geneva improved to 12-24 and 8-12 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. Jeremy Herzog (Freedom) had two hits and scored two for the Golden Tornadoes.
“We got a great pitching performance from Zach Ackerman,” said Geneva coach Alan Sumner. “We got some key hits, too so this was a big win for us.”
