Beaver Falls, PA – The Geneva College Golden Tornadoes football team set their 2013 season schedule as they enter their third year as NCAA Division III members competing in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. After some last minute scheduling changes with Bethany College, the 2013 football season schedule is set. Geneva will open the season with three straight Saturday evening football games in the Beaver Valley. Under the lights, Head Coach Geno DeMarco will start his 21st year leading the GT’s and the Geneva College Football program will continue adding to its rich history marking it as a 123 year old program.
Geneva will host Frostburg State on September 7th for the season’s home opener at Reeves Field with the kickoff scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. During the 2013 season Geneva will celebrate Homecoming on October 19th as the Golden Tornadoes face the Saint Vincent Bearcats in a conference game kickoff at 4:00 p.m. In addition, this year’s family weekend at Geneva College also falls on the Golden Tornadoes senior day game against long time rival Grove City. Geneva and Grove City first met on the football field in 1893 and will continue in 2013 at Reeves Field. Kickoff is scheduled at 1:00 p.m.
The Golden Tornadoes finished the 2012 season with a conference record of 3-5. Waynesburg (7-1), W & J (7-1) and Thomas More (6-1) finished at or near the top of the 2012 standings. Geneva will be on the road against each of those teams in 2013.
