LATROBE, PA For the first time this season, the Geneva women had two different players record double-doubles but it wasn’t nearly enough as first-place St. Vincent build a 25-point halftime lead and never looked back. Geneva is now 3-18, 2-13 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and St. Vincent is 16-6, 13-2.

Sophomore Heidi Mann (Evangelical Christian Academy, CO) led the way for Geneva with 20 points and 11 rebounds. It was her second double-double of the season but the first with points and rebounds – her first was with 24 points and 10 steals against Thiel. She is on a scoring tear right now and has now scored 101 points in her last five games.

Freshman Nicole Hyland (Penn-Trafford) had her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She provided Geneva with its only lead of the game by scoring the first basket of the game.

“We’ve relied on Nicole and Heidi all year and they can carry us,” said head coach Lori Wynn. “We played hard but didn’t start the game well again. St. Vincent is a very good team and shot the lights out in the first half, they made seven of 10 three-pointers in that half.

“We never gave up but just couldn’t come back.”

Geneva returns to action at home Saturday for senior night against Grove City.
