Labeled recycling containers are provided in each of the classroom buildings, office areas, and residence halls. Labeled recycling dumpsters are in several locations outside. Take a moment to read the stickers on recycling containers to know what items go in which containers.
Three types of dumpsters:
|1.) Commingled Recyclables: green dumpsters
NO PIZZA BOXES or other boxes contaminated with food residue!
Please empty and rinse food containers before recycling. Materials contaminated with food cannot be recycled.
Recyclable materials may be placed in recycling dumpsters in clear plastic bags or loose (without a bag). Black garbage bags are not permitted in recycling dumpsters.
What are plastics #1 and #2? #1 plastic includes most clear plastic drink bottles (for example soda bottles and water bottles). #2 plastic includes plastic milk jugs, laundry detergent jugs, etc.
The Commingled Recyclables dumpsters on campus are located behind Science and Engineering, behind Ferncliffe, between Memorial/Pierce Halls, at Young Hall/Geneva Arms, at Schoolhouse, in the R.P. Church parking lot beside Clarke Hall, behind Alexander Hall and behind Metheny Fieldhouse.
Look for the number inside the recycling symbol on plastic containers.
