1.) Commingled Recyclables: green dumpsters
- Plastic drink bottles, milk jugs and other #1 and #2 recyclable plastic containers
- Glass containers
- Aluminum soda/pop cans
- Metal cans (soup, canned vegetables, etc.) Please rinse out cans.
- Cardboard (corrugated and non-corrugated) Please flatten boxes so they don't take up too much space.
NO PIZZA BOXES or other boxes contaminated with food residue!
Please empty and rinse food containers before recycling. Materials contaminated with food cannot be recycled.
Recyclable materials may be placed in recycling dumpsters in clear plastic bags or loose (without a bag). Black garbage bags are not permitted in recycling dumpsters.
What are plastics #1 and #2? #1 plastic includes most clear plastic drink bottles (for example soda bottles and water bottles). #2 plastic includes plastic milk jugs, laundry detergent jugs, etc.
The Commingled Recyclables dumpsters on campus are located behind Science and Engineering, behind Ferncliffe, between Memorial/Pierce Halls, at Young Hall/Geneva Arms, at Schoolhouse, in the R.P. Church parking lot beside Clarke Hall, behind Alexander Hall and behind Metheny Fieldhouse.
Look for the number inside the recycling symbol on plastic containers. |
