Each piece is to be between 300 and 350 words. The basic format should include a title and a reflection; submissions may also include a scripture passage introducing the piece or embedded in it and could conclude with a prayer. Space is limited on the page, so please note that if a passage or prayer is included, the accompanying text needs to be shorter.
- Please include with your text the following information:
Full name, occupation, city of residence, graduation year (for alumni) and/or connection with the college (parent of a student or graduate, member of a board, friend, donor, etc)
- Format the piece in a Word document using 11-point Times New Roman font.
This will save us time in compiling and editing the material, but if you don't do computers, we will still accept materials. Submit your offering just as it is, and we will adjust it to fit our requirements.
- Each item will be read by committee members and judged for suitability.
It will also be subject to editing for technical errors and for length. Any substantial revisions will be submitted to the author for approval.
- Quotations from other sources require attribution.
Be careful of copyrighted materials; typically you may quote a phrase or two, but not a substantial block.
- Need some suggestions to get started? Consider a reflection inspired by a:
Favorite verse

Poem that means much to you
Hymn or psalm
Painful experience

Story
Disappointment
Term or idea
