Geneva College

Safety & Security

INTRODUCTION

As a Christian college, Geneva is committed to the concept that there should be a direct relationship between belief and behavior. The Bible establishes basic principles, which guide and foster the development of Christian character, thought and behavior. While it is difficult to legislate many of these matters, the college does have the responsibility to maintain standards, which are moral, promote righteousness, and uphold the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the City of Beaver Falls. Therefore, Geneva's behavioral policies are based on biblical principles, prudential policies and laws of the Commonwealth.

SERVICES

Security personnel are available at all times on the campus for the assistance of the students and staff. The Director of Security, the Dean of Students (6641) and his staff are available during normal office hours. The Security Officer (724-846-9632) and Resident Directors are available through the night.

Security personnel make regular rounds of the campus throughout each evening. Security personnel check all buildings, both residence halls and academic buildings, for safety and security.

All security reports and resident all incident reports are filed with both the Director of Security and the Dean of Students. In addition, crime statistics are maintained and reported in the format required by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act.

PROGRAMS OFFERED

The Office of Security, not only patrols campus property, but offers programs both through the Beaver Falls Police Department and the Beaver Falls Fire Department.  These include drug awareness and identification talks, as well as other related safety presentations for both on and off campus coverage.

We also offer hands-on fire prevention presentations. These include actual hands-on use of our fire extinguishers, fire systems, as well as actions to be taken before, during and after fire procedures.
