Head Coach - Lori Wynn
The Geneva College women's basketball finally has some stability at the top. After going through a transitional period that resulted in five head coaches in a period of six years, Lori Wynn took over the reins in 2011 and is set to begin her fourth season at the helm. Previous to Geneva, Wynn spent eight years as the head coach for Malone College where she compiled an overall record of 85-147. Wynn has spent a total of 16 seasons as a head coach including stops at Grace, IN and Nyack College. She has been involved in collegiate coaching for a total of 21 years including stints as an assistant coach at Taylor, Baptist Bible and Appalachian State. Her career head coaching record coming into the new season sits at 131-252.
During her most recent stint at Malone, Wynn coached a two-time NAIA All-American as well as coaching a total of 11 NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that every one of Wynn’s student-athletes have graduated during her 13 years as a head coach.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Wynn is a 1992 graduate of Houghton College. Wynn began her collegiate career as a player and as a student at Geneva College during the 1988-89 school year. She transferred to Houghton following her freshman year to pursue a different academic major. She earned her B.S. in Physical Education prior to earning a M.E.D. in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University in 2001.
In addition to her coaching duties, Wynn teaches in Geneva’s Physical Education Department. She also loves the beach, enjoys being active by competing in triathalons and running, and has a schnauzer named KC.
Assistant Coach - Ashley Dupler
Joining the Geneva women’s basketball coaching staff for the second year is Houghton College standout Ashley Dupler. Familiar with Coach Wynn, as both are Houghton College graduates, Dupler was hired as part of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant beginning with the fall of 2012. As a part of the grand, Dupler joins the Geneva athletic Department and specifically the women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach under Wynn.
Dupler, a graduate of Houghton College in 2011, has a stellar collegiate career on the basketball court. The four-year starter was a two-time American Mideast Conference first team selection while ending her career as the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots. Dupler scored 1,542 career points while grabbing 902 rebounds.
Following her graduation, Dupler spend the 2011-12 basketball season as the varsity and junior varsity assistant coach at Jamestown High School in New York State. Her main focus will be to deal with the Geneva post play and helping develop the inside game for the Golden Tornadoes.
In the past four years, on average, 90% of Geneva students are working or in grad school within six months after graduation.
