Exam Accommodations Guidelines

To be certain that eligible students are able to take exams in the ACCESS office, it is important that the guidelines below are followed.

  1. At least 2 working days before the exam, schedule your exam with the exam scheduler in ACCESS. Use the Exam Accommodation Request for Registered Students form (available in ACCESS) providing the following information:

    1. Name of Class and Course Number
    2. Professor’s Name
    3. Date and Time Exam is being taken in ACCESS (usually the same time the exam is being given in class)

  2. Have your professor authorize the date and time of the scheduled exam by signing the Exam Accommodation Request for Registered Students form. Return the white copy of the form to ACCESS. Your professor will keep the yellow copy.

  3. If the test is cancelled or rescheduled, notify the ACCESS Office with updated information.

  4. If you cannot take the test at the scheduled time due to illness, contact the ACCESS Office and your professor as soon as you are able. ACCESS will reschedule the exam according to your professor’s instruction.

  5. If you are unable to take the exam at the scheduled time for any other reason, please contact your professor with an explanation so that he or she can make a decision about making up the missing exam. ACCESS will reschedule the exam following instructions from your professor.

  6. Come to ACCESS prepared to take the test at the scheduled exam time just as if you were taking it in class. And, please be on time.
