Community Ministry
The community ministry major can be best described as a “ministry leadership” major. With a broad definition of “ministry”, some possible ministry leadership contexts include a church, para-church ministry or social-work ministry. Students and graduates put the community ministry major to work in:
- Youth ministry
- Transition to seminary
- Pastoral-staff ministry
- Continuance of “secular” job but more effectiveness as layperson in the church
- Pastoral ministry
- Community social work in faith-based organizations
- Workplace chaplaincy
- Residential counseling
- Human services work

Community ministry majors must complete 126 credits for graduation, including Old Testament survey (three credits) and New Testament survey (three credits), both approved by Geneva College.
