The Geneva College baseball team got back on the winning side of the ledger in 2011 with an overall record of 20-17. After a frustrating campaign in 2010, the Golden Tornadoes returned to their winning ways and are set to open up play as an active member of NCAA Division III and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference for the first time in 2012.
Despite the loss of some key components to graduation, the Golden Tornadoes will welcome back a handful of players that will make up the core of the 2012 campaign. Mike Suluva, Noah Medich, Tad Forsythe, Jon Bushmire and Adam Scheiderer will represent much of the returning leadership while others like Doug Sanson, Mike Trn, Mike Jeffreys and Jeremy Herzog make up some of the returning youth to the fold.
The Golden Tornadoes will be seeking their first ever PAC title in their first eligible season in the conference.
Head coach Alan Sumner will open his 23rd season in 2012 as he looks to build on the most career victories in any sport in Geneva College history.
