The BETA program is intended to help students discover more of their leadership potential, expand their leadership knowledge, and gain a better understanding of how to engage their leadership potential on Geneva’s campus both now and in the future. The program covers a variety of topics and engages in various activities that are relevant to developing college students as servant leaders – empowered to serve on campus, in the church, and in the community.

BETA is a voluntary first year leadership program designed to explore leadership and how it pertains to Geneva’s students, both at college and beyond. From theory to practice, the BETA program provides you with the opportunity to deepen your thinking, foster your growth and find a community of friends who together live out the call to lead.

Each year, over 50 students participate in the BETA program, which falls during empty class timeslots and is therefore easy to add to a fall schedule. The program features lectures, exercises, discussions and a Q&A with a panel of current student leaders, all of which focus on the complex topic of leadership. A leadership retreat will be provided upon completion of the program.

All incoming students hoping to get involved in the Geneva College community are encouraged to join. Contact the program at leadership@geneva.edu.

“One of the primary objectives of BETA is to help new students recognize all the new connections that are available and where they can serve on campus.” Brian Jensen, Director of Student Leadership Development and co-creator of BETA
