Community Participation Opportunities
The Students-in-Service (SIS) Interns, a student leadership team, organizes and implements service opportunities for Geneva College. The purpose of this group is to encourage the Geneva community to love and serve others as Christ has loved us. Through the SIS program or through Geneva’s many partnerships with local churches, school and non-profit organizations, students may aide in the areas of:
- Building and Renovation—serves the community through construction projects including but not limited to Habitat for Humanity and Hosanna Industries.
- Mentoring and Tutoring—provides student volunteers for two local youth drop-in programs, facilitates one-on-one tutoring with local youth, and connects students with the Big Brothers and Sisters program.
- Senior Ministries—ministers to local seniors through the use of crafts, conversation and shared time.
- Social Action—conducts food and clothing drives, participates in local soup kitchen work, and provides support for local care agencies.
