Overview

Students that study in the Department of Computer Science, Math and Physics open themselves to a realm of possibilities.  Each of these three areas form foundations for many of the products used in contemporary society - personal computers and software, transportation, communication devices and more.  Gaining understanding and training in these foundations equips our students with an education that is versatile and that adapts to the changing marketplace.  At the core of our department is the belief that students must understand scientific foundations to become leaders in today’s age of information and technology.

In addition, the entire curriculum is rooted in a Christian worldview.  This enables all students to balance their technical training with a standard of Christian ethics, allowing students to view their work as contributing to the Kingdom of God.

Facilities and Equipment
Students complete most of their major coursework in the recently renovated Science & Engineering building.  This facility features dedicated computer labs and equipment, designed to provide students with hands on experience directly in their field of interest.  This includes: research grade tools, a computer automated observatory, a Beowulf cluster computer system and many industry-standard research equipment.  Students within the department gain strong laboratory experience, providing excellent preparation for graduate school or careers.

Mission
The mission of the Department of Computer Science, Math and Physics is to educate and minister to students by developing in students an understanding and appreciation of the field of computer science, mathematics and physics in order to produce professional practitioners who will glorify God.
