Faculty Development

Our ability to continue improving Christian higher education and scholarship in the 21st century depends largely on the vitality of Christian scholars. Making sure that our faculty members are appropriately equipped to answer the challenges they face and to engage the students of today is vitally important to Geneva. We remain deeply committed to our faculty for principled and enthusiastic leadership in and out of the classroom.

The faculty development initiative has been designed so that Geneva faculty will:

• Be theologically grounded and engaged in ongoing theological reflection
• Understand Geneva's Reformed heritage
• Understand a biblical view of calling
• Integrate calling and other broader biblical perspectives into their courses, pedagogy, advising, and scholarship
• Enthusiastically take ownership of and provide leadership for reshaping the college's curriculum

Faculty development opportunities that the College offers include workshops, guest speakers, workshops in pedagogy, concerts and conferences sponsored by the College. Special initiatives include curriculum development, research and study for which the College makes funds available at its discretion.

Geneva will continue to be committed to faculty development, which is important in achieving excellence in service to the Lord and to the students as part of our mission to glorify God.
