Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Girl Engineering Day
Best Engineering College

Geneva College - Wednesday, March 26, 2014 (New Date)

Young women in grades 4 through 12 are invited to explore the field of engineering on March 26, 2014. (The date of the event is now March 26, 2014)

“Girl Day” is part of a national movement which aims to empower young women to pursue careers in the field of engineering. On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, Geneva College is joining this effort by hosting girls in grades 4 to 12 for dinner and various age-appropriate engineering activities and competitions. A concurrent information session for parents will also be provided.

Organized by the National Engineers Week Foundation, “Girl Day” is part of Engineers Week and is designed to “show girls how creative and collaborative engineering is and how engineers are changing our world.”

Geneva College’s Department of Engineering & Computer Science, a U.S. News & World Report Top 100 program, is joining this effort. Activities will be conducted by female engineering students from Geneva College who currently are a collegiate chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). For more than six decades, SWE has “focused on issues of interest to women specializing in engineering and technical careers.”
