Password Reset Information
PASSWORD WILL NOT BE RESET OVER THE PHONE OR VIA EMAIL. You are required to complete the Request for Password Reset form which will be located outside of SE 121. Complete the form and deposit it in the box inside SE 121. Within three (3) working days, your requested password(s) will be reset to Studentxxxx, where the xxxx represents the last four digits of your social security number. Be sure to use an uppercase āSā in your new password. There will be no formal notification when the password has been reset.
Lab/Library/Intranet/Web Registration/Email Password
To complete the password resetting process, you must go to a lab computer or on the internet to https://spwreset.geneva.edu to change your password. Once you have changed your password you may use it to access the intranet, email and web registration. Computer labs are located in SE 122, SE 343, NW 212, and the library.
The rules for creating a password are as follows:
- The password must contain 3 out of 4 of the following:
- Upper case letters
- Lower case letters
- Integers (numbers)
- Punctuation
- Password must be 8 or more characters
- Must not be the same as any of your previous 24 passwords
- A password cannot be changed more than once in a 24 hour period.
Remember:
Passwords expire in 120 days from the last password reset.
Blackboard Password
You will want to use the instructions below to change your newly reset Blackboard password to a password of your choosing.
Instructions for Changing a Password on Blackboard
- Start an internet browser session with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox
- Go to www.geneva.edu
- Place cursor on Quick Links
- Click on Blackboard
- Click on User Login
- Type in your username and password
- Click on Personal Information (inside Tools box on left side of screen)
- Click on Change Password
- Enter password of your choosing in Password and Verify Password box
- Click on Submit
- You will receive a screen saying Password successfully updated. Click on OK
- Click on Welcome tab to return to opening page
Wire/Wireless Password
You will use your newly reset wire/wireless password to access your account.
