Faculty connections

Faculty Connections with the Pisgah ProgramThe Pisgah Staff sees experiential education as an asset to traditional education, not a replacement for it.  We tailor design experiences for the classroom to align with what is being learned through textbooks and lectures.  This allows students to put into action various concepts and solidify connections by experimenting with these theories.  It is proven when students engage in a mental and physical activity together, concepts are retained longer.

Here are some examples of classes we have designed experiences for:

COM 220 Group Communications (Todd Allen)
Want to learn about groups by being in a group?
Special designed activities allow students to see and experience first-hand how elements such as conflict, group formation process, motivation, communication, group climate and leadership effect group performance.  On Tuesday, students learn about the concepts from book and lecture.  On Thursday these concepts are brought to life.

EGR 101 Freshmen Engineering (Dave Shaw)
Discover attributes and the engineering design process while engaging in mini-group initiatives.

There are various other classrooms designs available.
