The story of the 2010 Geneva College softball team begins and ends with the emergence of Julie DiLonardo in the circle. Setting a school record with 154 strikeouts and tying the single season mark with 21 victories, DiLonardo posted one of the finest seasons in school history. She received much offensive support from the likes of PAC honorees Martha Adams, Adriane Blake, Leanne Abate and Samantha Bautista. The Golden Tornadoes return all but one senior to the fold in 2011 as they will seek to improve upon their 23-17 record from last spring. With an influx of at least nine freshman faces to the program in the fall of 2010, the Golden Tornadoes will feature the largest roster in school history.
Playing on its new home field for the third year, Geneva has posted an impressive 38-8 overall record on its campus field since 2007. The Golden Tornadoes will look to another challenging schedule in 2011 with a solid core of returning players mixed with some very talented newcomers.
