The Geneva College softball team kept right on moving forward in 2009 with its fifth consecutive 25+ win season. With an overall record of 25-15 in 2009, the Golden Tornadoes watched one of the finest graduating classes walk away from the program. Despite the loss of several key seniors, the Golden Tornadoes will look to reload in 2010 with the return of a solid core group of players along with the addition of a new class of stars beginning their Geneva College experience this fall.
Heading the class of returning players will be NCCAA all-region players Adriane Blake and Martha Adams. In addition, Geneva will boast a total of six returning starters in 2010 including juniors Leanne Abate and Samantha Bautista.
Geneva will also look to continue its home field dominance after another impressive year on its new on-campus field. In two years, the Golden Tornadoes have a combined mark of 24-6 on their home field including a 14-4 record in 2009.
