Geneva Traditional Undergraduate Refund Schedule

Students enrolled in a traditional 15-week semester may withdraw from the College at any point through 4 weeks into the semester and be given a refund of tuition and room on a pro-rata basis. After four weeks no further refunds are granted, although a student may still withdraw from the college until the drop deadline. Should a student have a documented medical withdrawal after the fourth week, either a pro-rata refund will be made or the administration and faculty will work with the student to complete the course of study if feasible. Board charges are refunded on a pro-rata schedule for whatever portion of the semester is left when the student leaves.

Geneva tuition charges are refunded according to the table below. Geneva grants and scholarships follow this same schedule.

Before the first day of classes                     100%
Before the end of the 1st week 80%
Before the end of the 2nd week 60%
Before the end of the 3rd week 40%
Before the end of the 4th week 20%

After the 4th week

No refund

Refunds for students who withdraw from classes taken in non-traditional schedules (eg summer, cohort, off- campus) will be based on the general principle derived from the above table. That is, in general, no refunds will be given after 25% of the class has elapsed. Separate policies apply to room and board issues for student interns away from campus.

Keep in mind that if federal financial aid funds are returned, the student may owe money to Geneva. This may occur if the student withdrawals before completing at least 60% of the semester.

Dropping Courses – Traditional Program Students

During the first four weeks of a semester, if you drop credits so that you have less than 12 credits, Geneva, state and federal grants will have to be adjusted. After four weeks, adjustments are not made because no refund of tuition is granted.
