Women's Basketball

champs4.jpgThe 2006-07 women's basketball season will go down as one of the best, if not the best in school history. The Golden Tornadoes finished the season with an overall record of 24-5, which set a new standard for victories in a single season. Even more impressive was the late season run that resulted in the school's first American Mideast Conference tournament title. With that championship came Geneva's first-ever trip to the women's national tournament in Sioux City, IA. A first round loss to Mid-America Nazarene ended the historic run, but not before the women's team left their mark on Geneva history.

Head coach Ron Galbreath and new assistant Michelle Daniels will look to build upon last year's success with another run toward history. Geneva will begin play in NCAA Division III and will also play its first season as a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

With a solid core of players returning from last year's championship team, mixed with several talented new faces, Geneva could be once again primed for a big season.
