Well, February is not exactly springtime in Pennsylvania. But Valentine′s Day stirs the spirit of romance, even as we hope for the singing birds of spring. 

Yes, Geneva provides a challenging, Christ-centered education. But we know the college experience includes the development of lifelong relationships—even marriage relationships.

Our alumni records indicate that we have 1,830 couples for whom the buds of sweet love were planted at Geneva. If you are in that group, we want to hear your story!

Here are portions of three of these stories:

“We went on our first date on October 1, 1966 to a movie in downtown Beaver Falls. We became better acquainted that fall, because we were in the same debate class and scheduled to debate each other. Paul won that particular debate hands down, although he claims he has never won another debate through the years.”  – Paul (′67) and Joy (′68) Jewell

“I was sitting in the Dining Hall, minding my own mashed potatoes, when I saw her enter the room. I remember thinking that she was absolutely the most beautiful person I had ever seen. We became casual friends through mutual companions, but only after I had graduated and was working in the area, did I return to campus and ask her to join me for ice cream after I finished broadcasting a football game at 10:30 on a Friday night. The rest, as they say, is history.”  – Tom (′86) and Beth Ann (′88) Stein

“As sophomores, I added him on Facebook because I thought he was cute, but I had never met him before. We met for the first time on a Thursday night after he messaged me and asked if I wanted to go to Taco Bell with him.  Turns out we shared a passion for knock-off Mexican food.  After, we went back to his parents′ house, and I met his entire family…I wasn′t scared away.  After that, we were inseparable.” – Zach (′11) and Kathryn (′11) Watt

To all alumni who have the Geneva College affinity card from Bank of America:

As of March 31, 2012, Bank of America is ending Geneva′s participation in its affinity card program. After that time, you may continue to use your card, but your purchases will no longer benefit Geneva. The Alumni office is pursuing the possibility of a different affinity credit card. If we are able to make one available, we will let you know. Thanks to everyone whose purchases have benefited Geneva.
