November 2011Geneva College′s Career Development Center helps ADCP students and alumniThe Career Development Center on Geneva College′s campus may seem as though it is only accessible to those living on or nearby the Beaver Falls campus. However, the services offered are personalized and very accessible for all Adult Degree Completion Program students and alumni. Of the available services, the Career Development Center offers career direct assessment to help one determine skills and abilities, along with career counseling for advice about majors and career direction. The Career Development staff will also give students and alumni personalized attention either in meetings, through Skype or by phone. In these meetings, staff members help students build their resumes and present internship opportunities to help them gain experience and hone skills to increase employment options. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of job search workshops, job fairs, mock interviews and much more. One of the unique services available to ADCP students and alumni is the Geneva Job Link. This is an online network exclusively for the Geneva College community that allows members to post resumes, browse job openings and internships, and network with other Geneva College alumni. The Geneva College Adult Degree Completion Program has made a commitment to every student to provide an excellent education and to equip them to use that education to serve in the workforce. It is no surprise that adults returning to school are facing a difficult time. But having a place such as the Career Development Center to turn to in times of transition is a great way to enhance the solid Christian education received in the Adult Degree Completion Program. For more information on the Career Development Center, and to browse the services and job openings, visit www.geneva.edu/career or call 724-847-6572. |
