Robert Sekerak,
Organizational Development Graduate

When Robert first heard of Geneva College′s Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCP), he was working at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College as a student records assistant in the registrar′s office. He knew that he wanted to continue to work in the education field, but he recognized that he needed his bachelor′s degree to progress.

The ADCP allowed him to do both. He enrolled in the organizational development major that met at the college where Rob worked in Johnstown. While he kept his job at the community college, he was able to attend class just one night a week for 17 months. The setup of the program and small cohort size allowed him to benefit from more personal attention from faculty and staff. The education he received in the program helped him with his interactions between customers and coworkers. It also helped him to understand how the college functions as a business.

After his graduation in 2010, Rob was promoted to assistant registrar, a position he still has today. He also began working in financial and retirement planning. But in addition to his career moves, he decided to join Geneva College′s Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) Program that began in Johnstown following his graduation. His enrollment in both the ADCP and MSOL are proof that Rob takes his own advice. “Don′t wait. If you′re thinking about it, you′ll end up doing it at some point. Start now and don′t miss the opportunity.”
