Leadership Conference 2011 - John Stahl-Wert, Ken and Margie Blanchard, Jim Dittmar

As many of you know, on Thursday, April 7, 2011 we held our 11th Annual Geneva College MSOL Serving Leader Conference. Over 400 professionals, all leaders within their own spheres of influence, gathered at the Marriott Inn North in Cranberry Township to listen and interact with a trio of Serving Leader ambassadors. Globally recognized leadership experts Ken Blanchard and his wife and professional partner Margie Blanchard, along with President of Serving Leaders of Pittsburgh John Stahl-Wert, shared many "homerun" insights on how to develop serving leader attitudes and then turn those attitudes into behaviors that make a difference in the lives of others.

It′s fitting that Geneva′s Master of Science in Organizational Leadership Program - which is in the forefront of leadership studies in today′s rapidly changing and multifaceted organizational environment - would host such an event. The MSOL approach is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing upon the social sciences and organizational studies to develop the program's theoretical framework. In addition, the content of the MSOL program flows directly out of Geneva's mission statement, which is centered on developing servant-leaders.

The format of the Serving Leaders Conference enabled all the participants to take away a workbook of significant ideas and principles that fuel the process of being a serving leader. Reports from the professionals who attended indicate that it was a tremendous day and one that will impact actions and lives for a long time.

One person noted, "I have been to many conferences and seminars…. and I′ve learned more in this one day then I did at all the other seminars combined."

What a testament to the impact of the Geneva MSOL/Serving Leader Conference! We′ve already begun the process of planning for next year′s event. We trust that the details will come together soon and that God will bless our efforts to create another transforming conference. We take our role of being a leader very seriously - and are pleased to offer top-level experts in the field to benefit our professional community.
