MSOL Faculty

The faculty of the MSOL program is committed to teaching, and doing that well. In addition to facilitating learning and application, many of our faculty members are actively engaged in research and other scholarly activities related to the field of leadership studies. In this edition of the “Link to Leadership,” we highlight those accomplishments and congratulate our faculty for receiving the recognition they deserve.

Bonnie Budzowski
Ms. Budzowski recently released the self-study course Write Your Book to Build Your Business. An author, speaker and coach, she is the owner of incredible Messages, and is also responsible for MSOL′s “Writing Workshop” program, which strengthens writing skills.

Dr. Lutitia Clipper
Dr. Clipper presented the paper “Education the Transformer: Navigating the Acculturative Experience of Sudanese Refugees in Southwestern Pennsylvania” at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Eastern Regional Conference held at the University of Pittsburgh on October 28, 2011. This conference provides a forum for scholars, researchers, students, professionals and all other interested individuals from around the world to gather and share their most recent intellectual pursuits.

Dr. Diane Galbraith
Dr. Galbraith′s paper, “Academic Integrity: Implications for Human Resource Management,” was accepted for presentation at the International Academy of Business Disciplines′ (IABD) 24th Annual Conference—Business and Global Social Responsibility—scheduled for April 19, 2012 in Long Beach, CA. The article will be published in the Business Research Yearbook (BRY).

Dr. Mitchel Nickols
Dr. Nickols, Chairman of the Board and Acting President of Cornerstone Television Network, received the keynote speaker award during the Pittsburgh Minority Enterprise Development Week celebration. The celebration honors outstanding minority and veteran entrepreneurs and business advocates for their significant contributions and achievements.

Dr. Leo Salgado
Dr. Salgado′s article, “How a Christian Worldview Defines Strategy,” was published November 2011 in The Journal of Biblical Integration in Business (JBIB). The paper argues for the need of a definition for a Christian school of strategy to assist all strategists in achieving their purposes in ways that are life-enhancing for their organizations. JBIB serves as a refereed forum for discussing faith-learning-life links in business, and is published by the Christian Business Faculty Association once a year.

Dr. John Stahl-Wert
Dr. Stahl-Wert co-authored The Serving Leader for the People of God with Dr. Elizabeth Wourms, published December 1, 2011. This new book applies the teaching of Dr. Stahl-Wert′s earlier best-seller, The Serving Leader, to congregational leadership and ministry. Dr. John Stahl-Wert and Dr. Jim Dittmar were selected to co-present a key workshop at the International Conference of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership in June 2012.

Dr. John Stanko
Dr. Stanko has authored a number of books. His most recent book is The Faith Files, Volume Two: Paul′s Epistles, published in 2011.

Dr. Daniel Straub

Dr. Maureen Vanterpool
Dr. Vanterpool has served as a consultant to the federally funded COMPASS project, under the auspices of Family Guidance, Inc. The goal of the project is to increase capacity and sustainability of grassroots community organizations. Through the COMPASS project, she worked with 27 chief executives of non-profit organizations serving communities in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties.

The Master of Science in Organizational (MSOL) Program is designed for working adults using a faith based learning approach which develops leadership skills.  The academic quality of our program is reflected in the qualifications and capabilities of our faculty.  We thank the MSOL faculty for their commitment and service to the MSOL program and students.
