A Word from Dean Gallo:
Congratulations to Dr. Dittmar on his retirement!

Jim DitmarJim Dittmar leaves Geneva after serving for over 25 years. He founded the M.S. in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) program after three years of intensive work to develop a proposal that was finally approved by the Faculty Senate in February 1995. Since its founding, over 1,000 students have graduated from Geneva’s MSOL program, greatly extending our mission to the surrounding region, transforming the lives of hundreds of graduates and substantially supporting the fiscal health of the college. Some MSOL graduates have gone on to get doctorates and are actively teaching leadership in colleges across the country. As one of those graduates of the program, I have had the privilege of having Jim Dittmar in class and can attest to the way that the MSOL program has ministered to me and cultivated my professional development throughout the years.

In addition, Jim has been a strong presence in the community, developing partnerships and projects like the Leadership Conference which has brought in nationally acclaimed speakers over the years. He has faithfully served and supported Geneva College and his leaving truly marks the end of an era.

Undoubtedly, this news will be both shocking and saddening to many of you. Change is always difficult, and when a person has been this valuable to the college generally, and to the MSOL program specifically, it is especially difficult. While there have been many changes at Geneva recently, this one was not part our plans. Nonetheless, we were glad to support Jim’s desire to retire, and we wish him all the best in the months and years ahead.

You Can Do It! Take It From Someone Who Knows!

"I personally completed the program in two-and-a-half years all while having a baby and working full time. The workload is designed around a working adult lifestyle. The program meets once a week for four hours. The professors are fully accredited working adults themselves. All professors have an extensive background in their field. They teach from experience, not from the book. The classes are taught all locally."
