The Geneva College Board of Trustees recently voted to close the Semester in Rome program at the end of the 2014-2015 academic year because of the challenging environment in higher education and the need to shift resources to other programs. While this saddens me, I also see a new opportunity on the horizon: we will again offer short-term summer trips, such as those that we had before the Semester in Rome began. Although future students won′t be able to spend 90 days in Italy like those who completed the Semester in Rome program, they will be able to taste a bit of what Semester in Rome alumni experienced. Watch for announcements about future trips to Italy on the Geneva College website.
