Upon becoming a chaplain for Pittsburgh police officers, Johnson felt called to further her education in order to supplement her new leadership role. She enrolled in Geneva’s Community Ministry program and earned her Geneva bachelor’s degree in 2004. She used her new skills to develop programs for youth and elderly in the community that she was honored to serve and protect.

The professional development and networking opportunities at Geneva were great. My education gave me many opportunities to speak in public, interact with people at various levels of the organization and improve my communicating skills. I met people here that offered experience, advice, and connections to get me started in my career. I was prepared for my current role in which I frequently engage with senior managers, fellow employees and people outside my organization." Micah Yarger ‘12

Geneva definitely prepared me for my profession but also to navigate life – getting through finals, balancing personal life with school life, working jobs, everything. The professors really stood out to me with their diversity and knowledge. Geneva’s small student-to-teacher ratio means a lot. It means I got to make personal relationships with the professors who actually care about what I was doing and what I was learning in their classes. They cared about my success after I graduated and wanted me to go on to do bigger and better things." Christian Coleman ‘13
