Geneva College offers an Environmental Engineering concentration within its general Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Environmental engineers design a variety of pollution control technologies focused on water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, municipal solid waste disposal, and hazardous waste disposal. They also design environmental monitoring systems to detect the impact of human activities on the environment and threats to human health, and they participate in the design of “green” products that are friendlier to the environment.

Environmental Engineering Careers

Environmental engineers find careers in hazardous-waste management, wastewater treatment, and air quality control. Environmental engineers can work for government agencies, private corporations such as engineering firms, and nonprofit organizations.

Program Requirements

In addition to Geneva and general engineering core classes, students in the Environmental Engineering concentration take classes in mathematics, science and environmental engineering. Example environmental engineering courses include:
