Geneva turned in a doubleheader sweep over Saint Vincent on Saturday night as both the men's and women's basketball teams took care of the Bearcats in a pair of exciting games.

Geneva's women were coming off their first loss of the season after falling to Pitt-Greensburg on Thursday by ten points. On Saturday, Geneva's conference leading defense once again took over by holding Saint Vincent to just 15 total field goals, including only seven in the second half, in a 53-45 victory. Offensively, Allyson Clarke posted her 7th double-double of the season and fourth in a row with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Renee Rawding scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half to help lead the way. Despite significant foul trouble by Clarke and Rawding, each player managed to stay in the game all the way and got help from their teammates. Michawn Rich filled the stat sheet again with five points, seven assists and 11 rebounds. Freshman Christine Carugati knocked down a pair of second half three-pointers to give her team a lift.

The women's team is now 10-1 and will play a pair of PAC games coming up this week. After Wednesday's home game with Chatham, Geneva will play six of its next seven games on the road.

In men's action, Bryan Hill caught fire as the sophomore matched a career high with eight three-point field goals in Geneva's 92-88 overtime victory over Saint Vincent. Hill scored a career best 31 points in the victory. His most important shots may have come late in overtime when he knocked down a pair of free throws in the final seconds to seal the victory. Geneva scored the final eight points in overtime for the win. Senior forward Greg McDivitt scored 21 points and became just the 33rd player in school history to reach the 1000 point plateau for his career. Other highlights included senior Zac Northen's 18 points on 8-9 shooting from the field. The Golden Tornadoes moved to 7-5 on the season and will also have a pair of games this week. Geneva will travel to Hiram College on Wednesday to meet the Terriers for the first time since 1915. The Golden Tornadoes will continue on the road Saturday to renew a rivalry against Waynesburg. Those schools haven't met since the 1989-90 campaign.
