Andrew Foxenberg was looking to find a 5000 meter race and it did just that at Slippery Rock University on Friday afternoon. While the majority of Geneva's track and field team competed at Mount Union College on Saturday, Foxenberg was looking to qualify in his second event for the NCCAA nationals. With a brilliant performance, Foxenberg won the 5000 meter event in a time of 16:20 and in the process qualified for the NCCAA nationals for the second time in as many weeks.

In other track action, Tiffany Bear turned in a sixth place finish at Mount Union in the shot put. Laura Seyler and Sarah Davis both turned in top ten finishes in the 1 mile run, while Seyler also was fourth in the 1000 meter event. In men's action, Dan Dillman turned in a solid performance with an 11th place finish in the shot put.

Geneva's men's basketball team played just one game this past week and suffered yet another close loss. Watching an eight-point second half lead disappear, the Golden Tornadoes then rallied from nine points down to have a chance to win at the end. A pair of misses in the final seconds resulted in a 66-64 loss to Saint Vincent College. Justin Nardi matched a season high with 19 points and Greg McDivitt registered his 10th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The men's team has now dropped below the .500 mark for the first time this season at 10-11.

Another week led to two more victories for Geneva's women. The Golden Tornadoes have won four straight and are 18-3 on the season. This past week, Geneva defeated Saint Vincent 51-47 and then rallied from ten points down to beat Chatham 62-53. Allyson Clarke continued her dominance with an average of 23 points and 12.5 rebounds in those victories. Clarke's senior counterpart, Bridget Beachy, also enjoyed a great week, including an 8-point effort in the comeback victory on Saturday.
