Despite a 6-2 week, Geneva's softball team saw its NCCAA national tournament hopes dashed after dropping a best of three series to Mt. Vernon Nazarene. Meanwhile, the baseball team suffered through an 0-3 week. Geneva's track and field team sent the majority of athletes to Westminster, while a pair of Multi-Event athletes had some fun in the sun at IUP on their way to qualifying for the NCCAA nationals.

Geneva's post-season run in softball ended as quickly as it began with a best of three series loss to Mt. Vernon over the weekend. After taking game one of the series 5-4 in eight innings, the Golden Tornadoes watched Mt. Vernon win back to back games, including a 3-2 decision in the decisive game three. Geneva opened its week with doubleheader sweeps over Grove City and Carlow and it has moved to 22-12 on the season. Despite the regional loss, junior catcher Amy Pearce was named the Regional player of the year. Teammates Jackie Anthony, Michawn Rich, Adriane Blake, Ashley Archer and Rebekah Wahl were all first-team All-Region selections.

Geneva's baseball team fell victim to a pair of hot hitting teams in Walsh and Thiel this past week. Geneva dropped a single game to Walsh to start the week and then saw the Tomcats hit their way to a doubleheader victory over the weekend. Geneva's overall record sits at 13-11 with a pair of PAC doubleheaders coming up this week. Despite the losses, Justin Acosta and Tadd Eyster each launched home runs this past week to highlight the offense.

The story of the week goes to Geneva's track and field team as Tiffany Bear and Luke Duriancik each went to IUP on Friday and Saturday to compete in a Multi-Event setting. At the end of the competition, both athletes had qualified for the NCCAA national meet with outstanding performances. Bear posted 4,042 points, which was the third highest heptathlon total in school history. She posted personal best performances in the long jump and 800 meter race. Meanwhile, Duriancik scored 4,946 points, which placed him third all-time in the decathlon. He set a personal record in the 110 hurdles with a mark of 16.82 and posted personal bests in the javelin and 1500 meter race.

At Westminster, Susan Fletcher and Cory Fraction highlighted a solid day of competition. Fletcher placed second in the 5000 meter race, while Fraction brought home a second place finish in the 100 meter dash. Also for the women, Kelsey Anderson picked up a trio of top ten finishes including the 100 meter hurdles, pole vault and javelin.
