It was a relay day for the Geneva College indoor track and field team on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes traveled to Baldwin Wallace for the final indoor meet of the season and the last opportunity to qualify for the NCCAA national meet coming up this week. Geneva College's 4 x 200 relay teams took advantage of that last chance and both teams qualified for the national meet. In women's action, the relay team of Kelsey Anderson, Tiffany Bear, Aisha Moore and Jamie Williams finished third overall and qualified. For the men, Matt Susa, Shaka Sydnor, Corey Fraction and Stephen Polite finished first overall for a qualifying time.

In other women's highlights, Rebecca VanRegenmorter put on quite a show by competing in three distance events in one day. She began with a third place finish in the 400 meter event then a second place finish in the one mile race. The day ended with a seventh place mark in the 800 meter event for a very impressive tri-fecta. Tiffany Bear posted a pair of top ten finishes in both the long jump and the shotput.

Men's highlights included Corey Fraction's third place finish in the 55 meter event and a pair of top tens for Stephen Polite in the triple jump and long jump. The Golden Tornadoes will send a total of 11 student-athletes to Cedarville this weekend for the NCCAA national indoor meet.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams watched the Thomas More Saints march past them on Saturday. The likely conference winners on both sides, Thomas More poses quite an impressive dynamic duo attack. The men's team has won 13 of its last 15 and women's team is ranked 13th in the county. The women dropped an 84-64 decision while the men fell 90-66. Earlier in the week, Geneva's women fell at Waynesburg by the score of 65-58 despite a 23 point effort from Michawn Rich. The two losses this week dropped the women's record to 6-16 including a seven game losing streak, the longest slide in six years.

The men's team rallied from 12 points down in the second half for a thrilling 101-92 overtime victory over Waynesburg on Wednesday. Rich Colick scored 18 points and pulled down a career best 16 rebounds. Emilio and Justin Nardi each scored 15 points in the victory. Geneva's men start the final week of the season with an overall record of 6-16.
