Congratulations to the 2010 NCCAA east regional men's champion Geneva College. The Golden Tornadoes defeated Nyack College on Saturday to claim an automatic berth into the NCCAA national tournament on March 18-20. The Golden Tornadoes will be making their second trip to the nationals in three years. Head coach Jeff Santarsiero picked up his 300th career victory on Saturday against his alma mater in Nyack. Junior Rich Colick put the team on his back in the second half and finished with 30 points while becoming the 34th player in school history to reach 1000 points for his career. David Phillips contributed 14 points including four three-point field goals in the championship game. The Golden Tornadoes will participate in the eight-team national tournament with the brackets being revealed next weekend. Geneva finished the regional tournament with an overall record of 16-11. The spring season is set to begin in a matter of hours as both the baseball and softball teams play season openers on Monday. The baseball team opens an eight game Florida swing while the softball team begins a string of 12 games in eight days. Following is the athletic schedule for the upcoming week:
