With the same record after 13 games into the season, one Geneva team was headed upward this week while the other is still searching to turn things around. Both the menâ??s and womenâ??s basketball teams finished the week with an overall record of 3-10, but the women picked up two victories while the menâ??s team dropped two as the bulk of the Presidentsâ?? Athletic Conference schedule is now upon us.

The menâ??s team got an up close and personal look at the #19 team in the country when it visited Wooster on Wednesday night. A slow start was costly as the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 100-48 decision on the road. Another road game on Saturday against the first place Thiel Tomcats resulted in Genevaâ??s fourth consecutive loss. A poor shooting night was mostly to blame in a 73-57 loss to the Tomcats, who remained unbeaten in the PAC. David Phillips, Genevaâ??s most recent entry into the 1000 point club, was one of the few bright spots on the week. Phillips scored 23 and 21 points respectively in the losses as Geneva dropped to 3-10 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Golden Tornadoes will return home for the first time since December 7th when they host Saint Vincent on Wednesday and Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.

Taking a ten game losing streak into action last week, the Golden Tornadoes managed to put an end to that slide while at the same time picking up their first home victory of the season and their first PAC win ever. Geneva cruised to a 63-39 victory over Chatham last Wednesday night led by freshman Chelsea Kauffmanâ??s 17 points. Samantha Fisher added 12 points and Beth DeLuca ten as Geneva finally got into the conference win column. The Golden Tornadoes used their momentum from Wednesday to win for the second straight time on Saturday afternoon. Rallying back from a 14-point second half deficit, Geneva took care of Thiel 57-56. DeLuca scored a team best 14 points as Geneva improved to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference. Genevaâ??s 2-4 record is good enough for a five-way conference tie for fifth place. Geneva will try to keep things rolling in the right direction as it hosts Saint Vincent and Washington & Jefferson this week at Metheny Fieldhouse.

Following is the complete athletic schedule for the upcoming week:
