Golden Tornado Update | August 25 - 31, 2014

First week of school was here and gone and so has a very excited first week of Geneva athletics. Tennis kicked the action off Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over Bethany. After traveling to Penn State Altoona for a two game day on Saturday, the tennis team stands with a 2-1 overall record. Friday and Saturday night Geneva fans packed the stands under Reeves Field for the menâ??s soccer tournament resulting in a thrilling 4-2 win Friday and a 2-2 Final double overtime tie decision Saturday. Volleyball was also involved in tournament play at Bluffton, Ohio. The early season weekend handed the volleyball Golden Tornadoes a 2-2 record. Geneva womenâ??s soccer opened up the season against Pitt Bradford, falling 4-1. Last but not least, the men and womenâ??s cross country teams competed at the Westminster Fisher Invite with each team finishing fifth. Did you miss all the action this week?
