Freshman Jessica Kelosky broke the school record in the 200 meter dash at California of Pennsylvania University’s Early Bird meet on Saturday. Kelosky’s 13th place finish set Geneva’s outdoor 100 meter record to 12.74 seconds. In men’s action, junior Jacob Mellinger led the men with a second-place finish in the 200 meter dash with a 22.18 time.

Softball started the week in Fort Myers, Florida, and ended at Case Western Reserve, Ohio. Geneva finished 4-2 for a 9-7 overall record: Alfred State (3-1), Manchester University (4-2), Houghton (5-2, 10-7), Case Western Reserve (7-9, 2-19).  Freshman Megan Davis had a stellar week, hitting the single RBI that sealed the win over Manchester University, followed by a 5-6 at-bat performance against Houghton on Friday.  Junior pitcher Sam Johnson finished the work week with two wins, one loss and a save.  Geneva hosts Mt. Aloysius this afternoon for a doubleheader starting at 3:30 p.m.

Geneva baseball split the week 2-2 moving its overall record to 6-6.  Geneva defeated Western Connecticut State 6-3, 4-3 before leaving the Florida sunshine, but dropped a pair to Houghton on Saturday (7-1, 7-2). Jeff Parker helped Geneva from the mound, striking out nine batters, allowing no earned runs, and only allowing four hits and a walk. The win lifts Parker's pitching record to a stainless 3-0.  On offense, Andy Santana had an RBI double twice against Western Connecticut. On Saturday, Anthony Monteparte homered to left field in the bottom of the second for the 1-0 lead in game two against Houghton. Geneva opens up conference play on Tuesday, March 24, hosting the Grove City Wolverines in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
