Purpose and Training Objectives:

Geneva College is providing a training seminar on pastoral care skills to help the church and community. The purpose of the training related to grief, loss, trauma and violence is to: 1) address it in light of the scriptures; 2) train church leaders to better identify clinical symptoms; 3) increase appropriate referral to mental health and other professionals; 4) encourage pastors to develop support groups and lay ministry groups to provide church-based social support.

This training is a non-credit, non-degree seminar. However, attendees who complete the training program will receive a certificate of attendance from the Institute for Intercultural Care & Community (I2Care) initiative, Geneva College.
