Immersion Trips

Spring Break 2022

There are three Immersion Trip options for spring break 2022. Please read the descriptions of each trip and use the form below to apply for all experiences that you are interested in attending. The Center for Student Engagement will review all applications and consider the needs and group makeup of each trip. If you are accepted as an Immersion Trip participant, we will let you know which trip you have been selected you for by the end of the fall semester.

Participants are expected to attend 4-6 pre-trip meetings during the spring semester to prepare with your team, as well as a post-trip celebration event. All trip experiences will begin and end on Geneva's campus (dates specific to each trip are below); participants are expected to travel and remain with the group at all times during the duration of the trip. The trip cost covers all components of the trip including travel, all meals, lodging, and cultural experiences. The Center for Student Engagement also offers a variety of fundraising options to subsidize the cost for participants. Students who take advantage of these opportunities can expect to pay a fraction of the trip sticker price (already these experiences are incredibly affordable compared to a similar trip that you would plan on your own).

Quest Trips are service-learning trips that allow students to explore new cities, serve with different organizations, and learn how people are engaging in their local communities in ways that serve God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Trip Focus: Urban Education and Neighborhood Revitalization
Great food, great music, and serve with an incredible organization called Trinity Community Center. Learn about the history of New Orleans and specifically the Hollygrove community as you serve kids at an afterschool program through tutoring and playing outside. Spend the evenings exploring the city of NOLA through food, culture, and more.
Cost: $550
Dates: Saturday, March 5 – Saturday, March 12th, 2022

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Trip Focus: Addiction and Recovery
Take a train to the Windy City, eat deep dish pizza, and dive deep into the topic of Addiction and Recovery with Restoration Ministries. You’ll meet with community partners who have committed to the city and build relationships with those in recovery as you work side by side in the thrift store and food pantry. Students will explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of Chicago in the evenings.
Cost: $550
Dates: Saturday, March 5 – Saturday, March 12th, 2022

Adventure Trips are wilderness-based trips that offer students the opportunity to explore new areas, get off campus, connect with other students, learn new skills, grow in faith, experience the outdoors, enjoy a break, and meet students who share similar interests.

This trip is currently full but accepting wait-list applications.
Location: Gulf of Mexico, Florida
Trip Focus: Kayaking
Paddle Florida’s Gulf of Mexico with a week of kayaking, beauty, marine life, camping on white sand beach islands, and challenge towards a deeper faith in Christ. Explore the Ten Thousand Islands area of the Golf of Mexico and Everglades National Park, discover Christ’s deep love and work in you as we live together in this wild landscape, and take time to breathe in the goodness of God’s creation. Camping, cooking, kayaking gear & food is provided. You are responsible to provide your personal clothing and items. Beginner and skilled adventurers welcome!
Cost: $600
Dates: Saturday, March 5 – Monday, March 14th, 2022
