What do you enjoy about teaching online at Geneva College?
- I enjoy teaching my subject area in a Christian environment because so many people think that a life of Biblical faith and issues like finance, economics and business are, at best, in an uneasy relationship and are, more likely, at odds with each other. After all, we are warned repeatedly about the dangers of money. But economics is not about money, and money is just a tool that can be used for noble purposes or misused just like anything else. Christian economics is partially about proper use and efficiency. It may be useful to note that the words economics and economists appear in the Bible over 50 times. The Greek word oikonomia appears in the New Testament; it is always translated steward or stewardship, but it is the same word from which we get the word economics and its derivatives. To be a good steward means practicing good economics. So, take my class to find out more.
