The Teacher Certification Program at Geneva College is a non-credentialed program, so it does not lead to a certificate, degree, or other credential awarded by Geneva College. For this reason, students are held to the undergraduate federal loan limits while they complete the program.
Students are eligible for:
Federal Direct Loans: based on the undergraduate loan limits
Dependent Students can receive up to $5,500 annually. (This is combined for Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans). No higher amounts are available to dependent students pursuing a non-credentialed program. Parents can apply for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan at studentloans.gov, and if denied students will be eligible for additional Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
Independent Students can receive up to $12,500 annually. (No more than $5,500 in Direct Subsidized Loan will be awarded)
