Anatomy of the Kingdom: Ears
“Tune your ears to the sound of His voice”
“The ears can’t hear what the heart hasn’t heard first”
Word
Read the following verses together:
- Mark 7:31-37, Isaiah 55:3, Revelation 3:19-22, Psalm 66:17-20, Isaiah 65:24
- What do these passages tell us about God’s ears?
- What do these passages tell us about our own ears?
- We need the Lord to move us from deafness to hearing.
- When we are made able to hear, we begin to hear His voice.
- When we are made able to hear, we begin to hear the voices of others.
- We need the Lord to move us from deafness to hearing.
World
- Which voices does the world expect us to pay attention to?
- Which voices does the world tell us to neglect?
- What would the culture tell us is the reason or point of listening?
- In other words: Why listen?
- How is this different from the reasons why we listen as people who have been made to hear by YHWH?
Us
- Do you know how to listen to the voice of God? Share.
- Do you know how to listen to others? Share.
- How is God transforming your ears to hear the way He does? Share.
- How can we hold one another accountable to be people who hear His voice and the voices of others?
Unless God opens our ears, we cannot hear His voice.
In hearing the voice of God, we hear the One who leads us into whole body Kingdom living.
