Two types of writing consultations are available to Geneva students
One-on-one consultations
Geneva on-campus students can schedule a one-on-one writing consultation with a Peer Writing Consultant, either online or in-person. Email writingcenter@geneva.edu to request an appointment.
Drop-in hours
Visit the Writing Center on the main level of McCartney Library.
- Monday: 7 - 9 p.m.
- Tuesday: 7 - 9 p.m.
- Wednesday: 4 - 6 p.m.
- Thursday: 3 - 5 p.m.
Drop-in consultations are first come, first served. Consultations will be kept to no more than 20 minutes if there are other writers waiting.
To prepare for your drop-in writing consultation:
- Come to the Writing Center on the main floor of McCartney Library during the established Drop-In Hours.
- Have the document you wish to review in print or saved to the cloud
- If you would like to edit your work during the review and don't have a a laptop to use, you can borrow a Chromebook from the McCartney Library Circulation Desk.
Tutors will help you with any aspect of your writing, including:
- Understanding an assignment
- Brainstorming ideas
- Organizing thoughts
- Writing paragraphs
- Crafting sentences
- Formatting a paper
