Cross Country teams open season at Case Western
Cleveland, OH - Geneva′s cross country teams got their season′s underway on Saturday on a wet track. Both the men′s and women′s teams competed against opponents from NCAA Division′s I through III. On the men′s side, the Golden Tornadoes finished in eighth place out of 12 teams, while the women′s team fared much better. Geneva′s women brought home a third place finish out of 14 competing schools.
In men′s action, Andrew Foxenberg led Geneva with a 14th place overall finish with a time of 27:13 on the 8K course. Teammate John Perkins was Geneva′s next best finisher in 49th place in a time of 28:25.
On the women′s side, Dee Koutsourais, Geneva′s only senior, finished 10th overall in a time of 19:43 on the 5K course. Beth Bartolomeo was 12th in 19:45, while Rebecca VanRegenmorter came home in 23rd place with a final time of 20:02. Geneva′s women place a total of six runners in the top 50.
